The Divine Titles of Imam Ali a.s

Hadith of the Day is a daily feature highlighting timeless sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut), offering insights into faith, ethics, and spirituality for contemporary life.

Hawzah News Agency- The Holy Prophet (pbuh and his family) said:

أَسْرَی بِی رَبِّی فَأَوْحَی إِلَیَّ فِی عَلِیٍّ علیه السّلام بِثَلَاثٍ إِنَّهُ إِمَامُ الْمُتَّقِینَ وَ سَیِّدُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ وَ قَائِدُ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِینَ.

My Lord took me on the Night Journey (Isra), and He revealed to me regarding Ali (a.s) three things: that he is the Imam of the pious, the Master of the faithful, and the Leader of those with radiant faces and limbs [1].

[1] Note: In the Arabic language, "الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِینَ" (those with radiant faces and limbs) refers to horses with white markings on their foreheads and lower legs; here, however, it signifies Muslims who consistently maintain their ablution (wudhu) and are diligent in their prayers, such that the parts of their bodies washed during ablution are—both outwardly and inwardly—pure and radiant.
